A Greater Purpose Mission - Volunteers from SouthState Bank support Hope Abounds Cancer Network

On May 30, 2026, was a day filled with compassion, service, and community impact as volunteers from SouthState Bank joined together to support the mission of Hope Abounds Cancer Network.

Representatives from four SouthState Bank branches—Hampstead, Leland, Wilmington Shipyard, and Wilmington Military Cutoff—volunteered their time and talents to assemble Chemo Comfort Totes and Patient Resource Notebooks for individuals who have recently received a cancer diagnosis and are currently undergoing active medical treatment.

This meaningful project was completed as part of SouthState Bank's Greater Purpose Mission, which encourages employees to make a positive difference within the communities they serve. Through their collective efforts, volunteers helped prepare resources that provide both practical assistance and emotional encouragement to cancer patients facing the challenges of treatment.

Hope Abounds Cancer Network is especially grateful to Pine Valley Methodist Church for generously donating the use of its Fellowship Hall for the day. Their hospitality provided the perfect environment for volunteers to gather, work together, and contribute to a cause that touches so many lives throughout our region.

The Chemo Comfort Totes contain helpful items designed to provide comfort and support during treatment, while the Patient Resource Notebooks offer valuable information, organizational tools, and resources to help patients navigate their cancer journey. These resources often become an important source of encouragement and guidance during an overwhelming time.

Every tote packed and every notebook assembled represents a message to cancer patients: you are not alone. Through partnerships like this, Hope Abounds Cancer Network can continue providing practical support and hope to individuals and families facing cancer.

Together, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by cancer and helping ensure that every patient receives support, encouragement, and hope throughout their journey.

Thank you, SouthState Bank for helping Hope Abounds Cancer Network fulfill its mission of serving cancer patients and their families with compassion and care.
